Recommended for beginners, newcomers, and families!

As an ideal first step for elementary school children to play in the sea, we confidently recommend tide pool observation. This activity takes place in shallow waters where you can stand, and the water clarity is outstanding. The variety of marine life is incredibly rich, including crabs, hermit crabs, shellfishes, small fishes, shrimps, sea urchins, starfish, sea cucumbers, sea slugs, sea hares, octopuses, and more.

Before releasing the creatures, we thoroughly explain their names, ecosystems, the differences between males and females, and which one’s taste better if eaten. After the tide pool observation, we carefully teach how to use masks, snorkels, and life jackets, and visit several recommended snorkeling spots. Our goal is for customers to be able to snorkel on their own without a guide next time.

GoPro Filming Service Now Available!

Our filming service with GoPro is highly appreciated by our customers. For those who send us their feedback via email after this activity, we will give all the photos and videos taken by the captain during this activity as a gift. (*The photos and videos taken will be saved on Google Drive in the cloud, and we will send the URL via email at a later date, from which you can freely download them.)

Activity Location

Our location will be in Minamiizu Town, at the southernmost tip of the Izu Peninsula in Shizuoka Prefecture, where Mt. Fuji is located. It takes about 3 and a half hours by car or train from Tokyo Station. If you’re coming by train, you can take the Izukyu Odoriko Limited Express from Tokyo Station, which will take you directly to the nearest station, Izukyu Shimoda Station. From there, renting a car is convenient.

The video above shows our customers enjoying good sea conditions in July 2023. We do our utmost to guide according to the sea conditions and participant’s levels on the day (*Please note that the activities shown in the video may not be exactly the same as those you will experience).

The video above introduces approximately 30 species of marine life we encountered in the sea in July 2023.

Marine Life You Can Encounter

On days with abundant marine life, you can encounter over 30 species during this activity. Even on less abundant days, you are guaranteed to see at least 15 species! The key time is during low tide at the spring tide (when the tide is at its lowest and the water is shallowest).

If you want to participate under the best conditions, be sure to check this tide table and book on a date when the “LOW (JST)” column shows “0.50m” or less. From the top left in order, they are Oriental butterflyfish, Blackspotted boxfish, Snake triplefin&Parablennius yatabei, Goldlined seabream, Mottled blenny, Stripey, Cutribbon wrasse, Brown-lined puffer, Multicolorfin rainbowfish(male), Multicolorfin rainbowfish(female), Common octopus, Elegant Blenny, Indo-Pacific sergeant, Neon damselfish, Spotted tail morwong and and shrimp, and Moorish idol.

“Tide Pool Observation & Snorkeling in Izu”

Five Commitments

Child-Focused Guidance!

At home, I am a father of three children. Additionally, from May to November (excluding summer vacation), I conduct tide pool observations every year with about 3,500 sixth graders from Suginami Ward, Tokyo, so I am very good at making children happy. You will also get along very well with other families.

Photo Gifts!

We will send you about 30 underwater photos, as well as pictures and videos of marine life, via email. This service is extremely popular with our customers. It will definitely be a precious memory. Feel free to share the photos with friends or use them on your own social media.

Guide Living in Minami izu!

Living in Minami izu allows me to guide you through many things! I am raising my children here in Minami izu and being supported by the local community. Being a guide is not just about being able to snorkel. I also guide the outdoor classes of Suginami Ward, Tokyo (about 40 elementary schools), multiple sports clubs in the metropolitan area, and volunteer guides at local elementary schools.

Safety First!

I am certified as a diver, a member of the Izu Fisheries Cooperative Association (Minato Ama Union), a snorkeling instructor, a green tourism instructor, a national outdoor activity leader, and I have completed advanced lifesaving training. The ocean is unpredictable. If the waves are high or the sea is rough, the tour will not take place. We conduct tours with safety as our top priority!

Thorough Maintenance of Equipment!

At the end of the season, all equipment is disassembled, thoroughly cleaned with detergent and baking soda, sun-dried, meticulously cleaned, and stored in boxes. Through maintenance, we can find small damages that are not usually noticeable, and if such cases are found, we replace only those parts for the next year. Taking care of the equipment not only ensures the safety of our customers but also contributes to environmental conservation, which we believe is a standard practice for professional guides.

Greetings from the Representative

I love traveling. In the spring to summer of 2019, for 77 days, my family of five (with children aged 5, 7, and 9 at the time) traveled around Japan in a camper van. From south to north, we went from Kagoshima to Hokkaido. We visited places where friends lived, surf spots, and more. Although we also love Hawaii and Australia, this journey reaffirmed to me the beauty of Japan, especially its rural areas. Places like Tosashimizu in Kochi, Kyotango in Kyoto, Amakusa in Kumamoto, Nichinan in Miyazaki, Kuji in Iwate, and the Shakotan Peninsula and Niikappu in Hokkaido left a deep impression.

What we felt after the trip was, “Yep, the ‘Minami izu’ where our family lives is the best!” The clarity of the sea, abundance of fish, occasional waves, presence of hot springs, and mild climate make it so. However, transportation is incredibly inconvenient (it takes 30 minutes by car to the nearest station, Izu-Kyu Shimoda Station, 2 hours to Atami Station where the Shinkansen stops, and 3 and a half hours to Haneda Airport).

In July 2011, we moved from Fujisawa City in Shonan to Minami izu. After living in temporary housing for a few years, I purchased a used house within walking distance from Yumigahama Beach. We renovated it ourselves as much as possible, created a vegetable garden in the yard, used a wood stove for warmth in winter, and kept our electricity bill under ¥2,000 per month. With tasks like mowing the lawn and chopping wood always at hand, rural life is far from slow-paced.

We saw fish up close that we had only seen in an aquarium before, and both parents and children couldn’t help but exclaim in excitement, feeling like kids again!

It was our first snorkeling experience, but we had a great time without any worries. During the initial rocky shore observation, we learned a lot from directly interacting with creatures, feeling their weight, texture, observing their colors, patterns, and even learning how to distinguish males from females. While snorkeling, seeing fish up close that we had only seen in an aquarium before made both parents and children feel like kids again, and we couldn’t help but raise our voices in excitement. The children also had a lot to say about the size and patterns of the fish they spotted, making it a very enjoyable memory. Thank you very much.

Meeting old friends and encountering pufferfish, sea cucumbers, crabs, and even catching sea urchins made us feel like we were back in the old days!

Thank you so much for today!!! Thank you so much for accommodating our last-minute reservation! The three of us made wonderful memories together! It was a first-time experience for us to float in the sea and gaze at the underwater world altogether! It felt amazing. Meeting old friends and encountering pufferfish, sea cucumbers, crabs, and even catching sea urchins made us feel like we were back in the old days. Now, we’re enjoying the relaxing hot springs and delicious seafood in Nishi-Izu, feeling happy here too. Thank you for adding such a wonderful spice to our trip! Marine sports are the best!!! Thank you for the fun memories!

The captain’s explanations were easy to understand, and even our elementary school daughter had a great time!

We had a great Marine Day with our family of four! The scenery was amazing, and the captain’s explanations were easy to understand, so our elementary school daughter had a great time too. We want to come again next year! Thank you very much.

By the time we left, the whole family had become fans of the captain!

We’re grateful for scheduling a schedule that we could enjoy without pushing ourselves, while listening to the wishes of our third-grade daughters. Thanks to the captain’s extensive knowledge of the sea, snorkeling became a memorable experience beyond just seeing fish. It was delightful to see the initially hesitant girls become proactive, asking questions and trying to touch the creatures themselves. This trip was decided hastily, but we’re glad we entrusted it to Eco Surfer! By the time we left, the whole family had become fans of the captain (laughs). Thank you very much.

“We want to do it again!” “We want masks and wetsuits!” they said, and they’ve completely fallen in love with the sea!

Captain! Thank you very much for the incredibly fun time! Since we’ve moved to Shimoda, we wanted to learn more about Shimoda, Minami-Izu, the land, and the sea, and we thought it would be a great experience for the kids to enjoy snorkeling at their age. My second daughter was a bit worried at first because she didn’t like saltwater, but she quickly became captivated by the captain’s gentle and enjoyable guidance, and now she’s saying, “We want to do it again!” and “We want masks and wetsuits!” They’ve completely fallen in love with the sea. Both the family and I were so absorbed in observing the creatures of the rocky shore and floating in the sea, forgetting about time. We are grateful for the captain’s warm and knowledgeable personality. At first, we were nervous about touching sea cucumbers at home, but as we saw and touched the creatures at Aogahama that the captain showed us and learned a lot, we became interested in sea cucumbers and even found them cute. Was it the captain’s magic? It’s a mystery (laughs). If there’s another opportunity, we would love to learn more about the fun of the sea. Thank you very much for this wonderful experience.

The captain took my daughter’s hand and gently guided her, which quickly dispelled her fear!

It was my daughter’s first snorkeling experience. Before she got used to breathing through her mouth, she accidentally got seawater in her nose and was a little scared, but the captain took my daughter’s hand and gently guided her, which quickly dispelled her fear. After that, she eagerly followed the captain to see the fish he discovered and became completely engrossed in snorkeling. The water was clearer than we imagined, and there were plenty of fish to see, so both adults and children had a truly enjoyable time! The pufferfish was cute.

It seems that this summer’s snorkeling has left a strong impression as a memorable experience!

Both parents and children participated in snorkeling for the first time, and although they couldn’t swim, the captain’s humorous and interesting stories from the beginning gradually eased their tension. With detailed explanations and help putting on snorkeling masks, the fear and anxiety of the sea were alleviated, and both parents and children were able to enjoy snorkeling wholeheartedly. After returning home, the children opened a picture book of “underwater creatures,” confirmed the fish they saw today, and immediately started drawing. It seems that they had more fun than imagined, and this summer’s snorkeling has left a strong impression as a memorable experience. Thank you for teaching us the fun of snorkeling.

The children were snorkeling for the first time, but under the captain’s lead, they were not afraid at all and enjoyed themselves!

The sea and the captain were both fantastic! In the calm and clear sea, with plenty of creatures, both adults and children were able to enjoy themselves without worry. The children were snorkeling for the first time, but under the captain’s lead, they were not afraid at all and enjoyed themselves. The moderate breaks were just right for our unaccustomed family. We are talking about wanting to go again as a family. We are grateful to have been able to give our children such a valuable experience.

The children looked at the captain with admiration for his experience, confidence, and knowledge, reminding me of Shohei Ohtani!

When making the reservation this time, I asked if it wouldn’t be a bother to other participants if my 6-year-old and 4-year-old non-schoolers could join, and I thank you for accommodating my unreasonable request. To sum up our impressions, let’s stop idolizing (laughs). My eldest son is 10, and my eldest daughter is 8, and neither of them can swim, but my 6-year-old second son is eager to try anything new, so I thought I’d ask for your help this time. The children looked at the captain with admiration for his experience, confidence, and knowledge, reminding me of Shohei Ohtani (laughs). Both my husband and I, including my grandmother, were drawn in by the captain’s personality, thoughtfulness, and encyclopedic knowledge, and it was only three hours, but before we knew it, the topic after it was all about the captain, especially my 4-year-old third son. At the end of the experience, during casual conversation, I realized how much the captain loves the sea, loves Minami-Izu, and loves his family. I hope you continue to inspire many people and stay healthy forever. We will definitely come back to Minami-Izu with our whole family. Thank you very much.

I also deeply appreciate the captain’s feelings for cherishing the sea!

It was my first time snorkeling. I participated with my two children and my mother in the quiet sea of Aogahama. Until now, we had enjoyed playing in the rocky shore at places like Inatori, but snorkeling, floating and looking at the sea, was a first for us. It’s always busy when taking care of the children, so there’s never time to enjoy myself, but this time, the three of us were able to enjoy the sea together, as if flying in the sky. It was also my first time seeing lobsters living so close by. Thank you for teaching us a new way to enjoy ourselves. We will definitely come to play again! I also deeply appreciate the captain’s feelings for cherishing the sea.

We were deeply moved by the various valuable experiences we had today!

Thank you very much for providing us with various valuable experiences today. Before COVID, we used to snorkel in the sea, but this was our first time in Minami-Izu, and thanks to the captain’s experience class, we were able to learn and experience various things. The captain patiently taught us various marine creatures, environments, and snorkeling techniques based on his knowledge, skills, and experience. Also, thanks to the weather, the sea was transparent like a clear stream, and we were able to see many creatures such as lobsters, sea bream, and moray eels that we couldn’t see unless we experienced it. We were deeply moved by this experience of participating as a family and felt grateful. It became a memorable class. Thank you very much.

We were amazed to see fish even in the shallows in the sea, which was more beautiful than we had imagined!

We are very grateful for being able to participate in perfect snorkeling weather today. We were amazed to see fish even in the shallows in the sea, which was more beautiful than we had imagined. My 7-year-old eldest son loves swimming, but this was his first time snorkeling, and he was completely new to it. I was worried about whether he could breathe through his mouth, whether he could swim where his feet couldn’t touch, until it started, but he quickly adapted, and I was surprised. It was really good to try the challenge. I was drawn to the captain’s personality from the first meeting, and I was able to participate with peace of mind. When my 0-year-old second son becomes a elementary school student, I’m looking forward to participating with my husband and second son as a family of four!

I used to ignore crabs when I went to the beach, because I was scared, but this time the captain taught me how to catch crabs and distinguish between males and females, so now I want to enjoy interacting with various types of crabs. Once you dive into the sea, the only sound you can hear is your own breathing!

I’m surprised that there is such a beautiful sea relatively close by. The rainbow that appeared when we gathered was just a coincidence, but it was very beautiful, and it was impressive along with the white clouds towering from the distant horizon and the endless blue sea. Once you dive into the sea, the only sound you can hear is your own breathing. It was a wonderful memory of a special time when I could observe the creatures while immersed in my own world and think about various things. I’m very grateful that I was able to enjoy safe and secure snorkeling with other families led by the friendly captain from our first meeting. I’ll definitely visit again, so please take care of us.

Seeing marine life in real life, rather than in books or aquariums, is much more exciting!

We stayed at a vacation resort and participated because we could snorkel just a 9-minute walk from the hotel. It was our first time at Aogahama, but it wasn’t too crowded and was a hidden gem. Snorkeling with two elementary school children, we were delighted to see sea urchins, sea cucumbers, and damselfish living in the sea. Seeing marine life in real life, rather than in books or aquariums, is much more exciting. The captain was enthusiastic, and it seemed like he was knowledgeable about marine life and had lifeguard qualifications, so we felt safe participating. He’s good with children, so I recommend him to parents of elementary and middle school students. Captain, thank you for this time. I want to participate again next year.

We learned about the importance of nature, the nutrients flowing from the mountains, and things we wouldn’t notice in the city!

I’ve always loved the sea, but I thought it was scary, so I couldn’t muster the courage to play without asking local people first. This time, I really wanted to snorkel, so I asked the recommended eco-surfer from our accommodation. Thanks to the captain, we were able to play in the sea safely and enjoyably. We encountered sea cucumbers, pufferfish, turban shells, sea urchins, spiny lobsters, and various beautiful fish (such as blue fish, slender fish, striped fish, and fish with tiger patterns) that I forgot the names of. It was a very beautiful sea (even though the visibility was only about 60%!), but I heard that it is gradually becoming polluted. We had fun playing, but we also learned about the importance of nature, the nutrients flowing from the mountains, and things we wouldn’t notice in the city. We had the opportunity to think about coexistence between humans and nature, and I’m really glad we came. Anyway, I highly recommend it!

Thanks to the experienced captain’s guidance, we could experience it much more fun and safely!

We were taken care of on the last day of our 2-night, 3-day trip to Minami Izu. I’ve been hooked on snorkeling since last year, and I dived in several places this year, but I was very satisfied with today’s Aogahama sea’s visibility, safety, the types of fish, shells, shrimp, and crabs we could encounter! Especially thanks to the experienced captain’s guidance, we could experience it much more fun and safely. Even the children said, “It was the most fun!” Not only underwater but also picking up shells on the beach, we were absorbed in it and forgot the time (laughs). I’m grateful to the captain for teaching us about the great nature of Minami Izu, which was created over a long time, and the roles and importance of mountains, rivers, and seas. I hope to come again next year. Thank you very much!

The lesson structure, gradually stepping up, seemed to resonate well with my daughter!

The three hours flew by!! We had planned this trip with the concept of “experiencing and challenging new things” for my daughter’s summer vacation, and the snorkeling experience with the captain was exactly in line with that. Seeing my daughter eager to share her experience with me right away was symbolic. Not understanding something can turn from doubt to fear, and the willingness to try is also diminished, but the lesson structure of gradually stepping up the level of interest and concern seemed to resonate well with my daughter. Even at points where her feet couldn’t touch the ground and it was 3.4 meters deep, I was moved to see her actively searching for something! The essence of making us conscious of the current state and the future of the sea was something that resonated not only with children but also with us, the parents’ generation. Thank you very much for the fun, learning, and heart-opening lesson!!

My son has become a huge fan of the captain and wants to meet again!

Until now, we had been snorkeling somewhat casually, but this time, we learned a lot from the captain, which was very educational. With the highest transparency I’ve ever experienced, I was finally able to see the sea slugs I’ve always wanted to see, and I couldn’t help but cry. Excitement far beyond expectations!

Our first-grade child was really looking forward to it, but as parents, we were a little worried about how he would react to his first snorkeling experience. However, the excitement far exceeded our expectations! Since my child wants to see the sculpin we didn’t meet today, we’ll definitely participate again. Every moment, from entering the sea to break time, was enjoyable. Thank you for holding this event today. – From a parent who is confident that they enjoyed it more than the child.

We all love the captain’s friendly personality!

Thank you for conducting the snorkeling despite the high waves due to the typhoon. Although it wasn’t our first time snorkeling, we learned about the names and characteristics of creatures that we wouldn’t have known without the captain, making many new discoveries. My fourth-grade son was overjoyed to see a big sea bream. When we got back to the inn, the whole family counted how many different creatures we found, and there were nearly 20. We love both Aogahama, where we can meet many creatures, and the friendly captain. We will definitely come back next year!

Despite the approaching typhoon, I’m glad we could participate! We caught crabs, picked up shells, and saw fish up close for the first time during our first snorkeling experience, which was fun for both parents and children! My elementary school child seemed very happy to learn various things from the captain. Thank you very much!

We received clear and easy-to-understand instructions on how to use the equipment, so even as beginners, we weren’t worried!

We participated with children who were beginners at snorkeling. We received clear and easy-to-understand instructions on how to use the equipment, so even as beginners, we weren’t worried. And in the long-awaited sea, we were impressed by seeing various fish. It was not only a good memory of this summer vacation but also an experience that will remain in our hearts. The time spent with the cheerful and kind captain was very enjoyable. If there is another opportunity, we would like to try it again. Thank you very much!

I want to try it again. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy an activity that we wouldn’t normally do in the face of an approaching typhoon. Even adults returned to their childhood and had a great time. My son: Everyone was kind, and it was fun to see various fish.

Every sighting took on new meaning with the captain’s guidance!

Thank you very much for this opportunity. We were taught how to find various creatures and their names and characteristics by the experienced captain. What would have been just playing on the rocky shore for our family turned into a guided tour of every creature found with other participating families. The captain’s guidance gave new meaning to every sighting. During snorkeling, we were given detailed explanations of various fish, the flow of the tide, and the points of the terrain, and we were impressed by the beautiful sea and abundant nature of Minami-Izu, which we visited with our family for the first time. Despite the influence of a distant but huge typhoon, it was the captain’s skill that allowed us to safely conduct activities at pinpoint times by reading the tide, weather, and terrain of Aogahama. Thank you for the valuable experience. Child: Snorkeling and playing on the rocky shore were fun. The captain was also kind, so I felt safe.

It was reassuring that the captain considered our safety and allowed us to have maximum fun in a safe place!

This was our second time participating. The captain immediately answered any questions we had, which drew even more interest from the children and provided us with an experience we couldn’t have had on our own. I’m impressed by the captain’s knowledge. Even though there was an approaching typhoon, the sea was often rough even in Okinawa, but it was reassuring that the captain considered our safety and allowed us to have maximum fun in a safe place. It was a tour where both children and adults could feel the fun and grandeur of the sea.

It was great to see the actual nudibranchs for the first time!

Thank you for this experience. Wearing a wetsuit kept us warm, so we could explore the rocky areas without worrying about the cold. It was great to see the actual nudibranchs for the first time. We were surprised by the various fish on the rocky shore. Also, it was the first time we discovered touchable anemones. It made us realize what moray eels look like. We’d love to participate again.

Not only the person in question but also the accompanying family got hooked!

We experienced snorkeling for the debut of our son, who loves fish. Not only the person in question but also the accompanying family got hooked! We saw moray eels, soldierfish, pufferfish, butterflyfish… We could see the fish we usually see in aquariums up close. Despite the influence of the typhoon, the water clarity was high, so we enjoyed it. We imagine it would be even more wonderful if the conditions were better. We definitely want to participate again. Captain, thank you to all the families we were with.

The invaluable three hours spent with the children were thanks to the captain’s support!

After spending a long time in the car and having almost no experience with the sea, the children were initially full of anxiety. However, with the captain’s bright and friendly guidance, the children’s anxiety disappeared. Our eldest daughter, who is usually even afraid of frogs and grasshoppers, surprised us by picking up sea urchins and hermit crabs during the rocky shore exploration. Moreover, during the snorkeling experience, the children were actively moving around, saying, “Dad, come here! Look at this!” The invaluable three hours spent with the children were thanks to the captain’s support. Thank you for this opportunity. We wish you continued success in your future endeavors.

Children were delighted to see spiny lobsters, moray eels, and nudibranchs!

Despite the less-than-ideal conditions, you found a place for snorkeling and showed us various marine creatures. We encountered many creatures we wouldn’t have found if we had come to the sea by ourselves. Children were delighted to see spiny lobsters, moray eels, and nudibranchs. They said that it was not only about exploring the rocky shore and snorkeling but also about meeting the captain, which made it a memorable experience. We hope to have a guided snorkeling session in better conditions next time. We’ll definitely come back. Thank you for the memorable time.

Appreciated the accommodating approach enjoyable for both children and grandparents!

We were impressed by the abundance of marine life. It was great for the children to have new experiences. It seemed that each of them had a good time, and it may have been a chance for them to broaden their horizons. We appreciated the accommodating approach enjoyable for both children and grandparents! It was a fulfilling experience! While snorkeling wasn’t new to me, I had many new discoveries and had a fruitful time. The captain’s personality was very nice, and my son couldn’t stop asking questions because you answered everything! (laughs) I learned that having knowledge about the sea and fish makes the experience much more enjoyable. Thanks to the captain, I feel like I’ll be able to enjoy a fun beach life in the future! It became the best memory of this summer!

Thanks to the captain’s cheerfulness and extensive knowledge, we were able to enjoy the sea even more! At Aogahama, we could see many fish even in shallow water, making it very enjoyable for children and novice adults. Besides fish, we encountered many marine creatures such as sea cucumbers, shrimp, sea urchins, hermit crabs, trumpet shells, and spiny lobsters… It’s rare around here, but we also found clownfish! Even if you’ve seen the fish in an aquarium, encountering them in the sea gives you a different kind of excitement. When the sea suddenly turned purple, the captain found a huge purple sea slug and explained in detail, “It’s similar to a sea hare and releases purple liquid.” (I probably stepped on it… Sorry, sea slug.) I really wanted to try snorkeling, so I found the captain’s blog and applied. The captain was considerate of the participants’ situation, so even my 60-year-old mother seemed to have a great time, and we were all very satisfied. It became the best memory of this summer! Thank you very much!

My daughter is eager to go next year and jump from the rocks!

My daughter was nervous about her first snorkeling experience, but the captain’s fun atmosphere made her relax and enjoy herself. There was a pre-explanation of precautions, so when my daughter said she was getting cold, I could handle it calmly. Throughout the experience, there were reassurances not to push too hard, which seemed to make my daughter more comfortable expressing her concerns. I was amazed by the diversity of marine life in southern Izu. Being able to observe with explanations was very enjoyable for me as a parent. My daughter is eager to go next year and jump from the rocks! Thank you very much.

Children could see fish with the captain’s help, and we are very grateful!

Neither my children nor I can swim, so we thought snorkeling was impossible. However, after seeing the website and reviews, we thought we might be able to do it, so we decided to join. We were very nervous at first, but thanks to the experienced, cheerful, and kind captain, we were able to relax and enjoy ourselves. During snorkeling, the captain provided one-on-one guidance to my children, so I could be pulled by my husband and see various fish. My children are very grateful to the captain for helping them see fish. Rather than mastering perfect snorkeling, we aimed to see as many creatures as possible within the limited time, and I think that’s why we enjoyed it. I’m glad I took the plunge and applied. It was a valuable experience. Thank you very much. Child’s comment: “I’m not good at swimming and didn’t know anything, but the captain was kind and taught me carefully, so I was able to enjoy the sea. Thank you very much.”

Thank you for taking care of our family of three today. My daughter had her first snorkeling experience and really enjoyed it. My wife and I also enjoyed snorkeling for the first time in a while. The captain’s guidance quickly captivated my son with the fun of the sea!

We participated hoping that our 9-year-old twins, who were diving for the first time, would understand the fun and a little bit of fear of the sea. Thanks to the captain’s guidance, which further excited the excitement of the curious boy, my son was quickly captivated by the fun of the sea. On the way back, he held the anti-fogging agent for swimming goggles and the mugwort he was taught like treasures. My daughter, who was afraid to put her face in the water, gradually began to enjoy the sea as the captain showed and explained crabs and sea hares up close. Parents who participated thinking of their children ended up enjoying themselves and were earnestly searching for marine life.

The captain’s program was well-paced, and the three hours flew by!

It was my first time participating. I was worried that three hours would be too long for my first grader, but thanks to the well-paced program by the captain, the three hours flew by. I learned how to find crabs and caught them myself, and had a valuable experience touching sea cucumbers, sea urchins, etc. My child and I were very satisfied. I would like to participate with my younger child next time.

We had a very enjoyable experience that we couldn’t have at an aquarium, such as seeing flounders blending into the sand and moray eels!

It was our family’s first experience with rock pooling and snorkeling. We were a bit anxious because it was our first time, so we contacted you before applying. Your explanation was easy to understand, and even over the phone, we could sense your personality, so we decided to apply. On the day itself, you kindly instructed us from the preparation stage and taught us a lot about the creatures! Thanks to the flexible snorkeling time due to the tide conditions, we were able to fully enjoy snorkeling, and the children seemed to have a lot of fun finding and catching crabs after you taught them how. We had a very enjoyable experience that we couldn’t have at an aquarium, such as seeing flounders blending into the sand and moray eels! Thank you, Captain, for guiding us during snorkeling! Although my son is a little shy despite being tall, he kept saying how much fun he had on the way back. It was good to learn how to distinguish crabs. It was fun to learn how to put on a wetsuit, and I learned a lot from how to use mugwort. I tried it the next day too! We experienced jumping into the sea, and the children said they had a great time!

We wanted to let the children experience rock pooling and snorkeling, so we chose this tour because it was a set of both and because the profiles were detailed, we felt reassured. The result was a great success. The captain was knowledgeable about marine creatures, explained various things, and operated in a safe and secure manner. It was also lucky that the transparency was quite good, making it the best condition. At the end, we experienced jumping into the sea, and the children said they had a great time. The ice cream was also delicious. Thank you for the valuable experience. Captain, please take care of yourself and continue your activities. You mentioned that you used to hold different experiences in the past, but if you do so in the future, we would like to participate.

It’s an experience we can recommend in every aspect!

We used it for my third-grade son’s first snorkeling experience. The captain’s skillful guidance made it possible for my son, who is not good with creatures, to touch many of them. The lecture on dangerous creatures was also polite, and it was a safe and secure experience. We discovered many fish, including sea bream, pufferfish, spiny lobsters, moray eels, and nudibranchs. The transparency of the sea, the high temperature of the seawater, the abundance of creatures, and the coolness of the captain are all recommended experiences. The sea is so beautiful that you can’t swim anywhere else!! Highly recommended. My son is already excited about becoming the captain’s disciple and doing snorkeling overnight next year. I will also lose 10 kilograms and work harder to go further next year. Thank you very much, Captain Master.

They were having fun catching crabs on the way back!

It was fun to see box puffers puffed up and beautiful blue fish. My daughter didn’t like sea cucumbers at first and didn’t want to put her feet in the water, but she got used to it quickly and had fun catching crabs on the way back. It was the first time for both of them to wear wetsuits and snorkel, but thanks to the life jackets, they could float easily and enjoy themselves. I hope we can bring our younger daughter next year.

We had a great time and were able to spend a fulfilling summer vacation!

This time, it was the children’s first snorkeling experience, but thanks to the captain’s enjoyable lecture, they went from saying they didn’t want to go to the sea because it was scary and they didn’t want to snorkel to becoming fascinated with swimming in the sea and looking for fish, catching crabs during rock pooling, and having a great time, so we are grateful that we were able to spend a fulfilling summer vacation. Also, the captain has been guiding snorkeling tours for over 10 years and has deep knowledge of fish, and he said there have been no accidents, so I was very relieved! Today, even in shallow waters, the transparency was extremely high, and I was very satisfied with the variety of fish, including spiny lobsters and moray eels. Thank you very much! Captain, please continue to take care of yourself and your activities. If you hold different experiences in the future, I would like to participate.

It was the first time to experience seeing so many creatures just a meter from the shore, and we were excited the whole time!

We had a wonderful experience as a family of four. We participated in the first rock pooling with my husband, me, and our two sons. We encountered crabs, sea cucumbers, purple sea urchins, and our two sons were already excited. My first-grade son had almost no experience snorkeling, but we received very polite responses, including how to put on the equipment. In the sea, there were beautiful fish everywhere, and we were surprised to be able to observe moray eels and spiny lobsters, among others, and were amazed by their richness. We also encountered many other fish, such as porcupinefish and box puffers. It was the first time to experience seeing so many creatures just a meter from the shore, and we were excited the whole time. It was a lucky timing with exceptionally high transparency that day. We had a very enjoyable three hours, thanks to the safety provided by being able to enjoy it in shallow areas, the captain’s (guide’s) abundant knowledge, and the safety of it all. It’s been five years since I’ve been to Japan, and it’s my first time snorkeling. The whole family was looking forward to it. The captain was very kind and taught us carefully. There was the fun of finding fish while floating, so I could participate with peace of mind!

If we were going to the sea with friends from nursery school, it would be, “I want to try snorkeling!” and “I want to see the world of the Little Mermaid!”, so we applied. The telephone response was also good because we were able to ask about children’s worries in advance and prepare mentally. I was worried about places where I couldn’t touch the bottom, but there was the fun of finding fish while floating, so I could participate with peace of mind.

The captain is like the legendary figure of Yumigahama, or even greater, what style of swordsmanship is this?!

During rock pooling, the captain quickly caught various creatures, explained them in an easy-to-understand manner, and linked them to our daily lives. It was also a good memory to find a slightly large crab and have the whole family participate in the capture operation (laughs). Also, honestly, I was worried if my daughter would enjoy snorkeling because she is not used to the water. However, after preparing for water adaptation with the captain, she was able to enjoy snorkeling in no time… I can entrust everything to the captain with peace of mind. After that, we observed the underwater world by the captain’s side, met various fish and creatures, and had an impressive experience. The natural environment of Yumigahama and Aogahama is truly amazing. Surfing, rock pooling, snorkeling, everything was very satisfying. The captain occasionally talked about daily experiences of coexisting with nature, and the children were full of curiosity and bombarded him with questions. In various experiences, the captain quickly removed any anxieties and guided us happily, so both parents and children were able to enjoy themselves to the fullest. “The captain is so cool!” is the children’s favorite phrase. My husband is in awe, saying, “The captain is like the legendary figure of Yumigahama, or even greater, what style of swordsmanship is this?!” (laughs). My son has written several pages of diary entries for these three days. My daughter said, “The captain is kind,” and in her picture diary, there were drawings of her enjoying snorkeling with the captain. I think the impact of these three days of experience on the children is very significant. I am grateful to have spent the beginning of summer with the captain.
